Gluten-Free Bakery in Bexley |
It is first an adorable, French inspired little shop and it feels so special to walk into a dedicated gluten-free bakery where every beautiful baked goodie is safe. I’ve travelled all over the country and to Europe and taken photos of cozy little gluten-free bakeries full of delectable and beautiful treats, but the thrill of finding a place in my hometown is even more special.
My iPhone photo of the gluten-free menu-sorry! |
I was quite giddy as I perused the menu
Iced gluten-free sugar cookies and gluten-free madeleines |
and peeked at the trays behind the glass.

Of course, I couldn’t choose just one thing.

I’ll have one of everything, please. |
So everything went in to a box.

And all tied up with string. |
The attention to detail, from the labels and brown boxes tied with string to the French blue and white tile and stainless steel elegance of the bakery made me feel quite pampered and perhaps transported for a moment to Europe. Okay, the cold and snow are making me feel a bit of wanderlust and the aromas of baking sugar cookies probably went to my head, but it is a big deal to find an elegant, safe place to enjoy a treat and a quiet moment and not have that underlying fear of getting glutened. I brought all those treats home to share with the family and they were pronounced wonderful. I loved the polenta cake and my son said the sugar cookie and the icing were the best he’s tasted. This is how I think treats are meant to be eaten. Baked with care and in a special shop where it is a special occasion to eat them. The bakery is just around the corner from an art house theater and would be a great gluten-free date.
Kim, from Gluten Free is Life interviewed Geri Peacock when she was selling goodies online and at the Westerville Farmers Market and Raisin Rack. There is also an article profiling the baker and her gluten-free journey in a local newspaper. For those with nut allergies, Cherbourg Bakery is also a nut-free facility.
Looks amazing! I can’t wait to get down to see Geri & the new Cherbourg bakery!
Thanks for linking to my article.
