In My Gluten-Free Kitchen-Sharing Sunday Cookbook Shelves

We’re sharing our cookbook shelves today. First is the cupboard in my kitchen where I just left one section open and without doors. Sometimes I store my oversize cookbooks here and sometimes I organize my jars of gluten-free flours and baking supplies here.

In the dining room, I store most of my gluten-free cookbook collection on a bookshelf I inherited from my mother-in-law. She would probably be horrified by the distressed turquoise and acid green paint I used. See any of your favorites here? Getting to know many of these of authors and reviewing their books is one of the best parts of blogging.

This shelf is over my desk and houses my food history, culture and writing books, as well as some of the books I use in my kids’ cooking classes.

This is another shelf in my office–a work in progress.

Grab a cup of tea and browse through the delicious photos and posts I’ve collected and share one of your own.

Here are some fun links to other cookbook collections:

A chicken brooder as shelf, lots of storage ideas to envy, a nook for your cookbooks, display the best of your collection, a post full of cookbook shelves, if you remember and look for books by their color like I do, this one is for you, a wire basket on the counter.

Please share your posts about cookbooks, whether it’s how you store them, a review of a favorite or two, or anything related to books and kitchens.

  1. Love your bookcases–mine is so boring in comparison! (and I LOVE the acid green!). How smart to separate by topics that way. I don’t know if this counts, but a while back I posted this pic of my cookbook bookcase in conjunction with a recipe. . .clearly in need of some organization! ;-) http://bit.ly/eMTsBp Happy Sunday! :)

  2. Love all your cookbook and food-related cookbook spots, Wendy! We need quite a few, don’t we? Now I’m wondering if I should re-do my post plans to join in on the fun. ;-) Hmmm. Haven’t checked out all your links yet, but the chicken brooder is fun! One can truly make great bookshelves out of all kinds of things. One set of shelves that I used to use for cookbooks and kitchen items was an old Hostess bread display (ironic, huh?). I had painted it a bright blue and absolutely loved having it in the huge kitchen of the big farmhouse we rented. It was graduated as display shelves often are so the bottom shelf was much wider than the top. Therefore, it made for a perfect combination shelving system. Later, here in our current home, it became Son’s display shelf in his room for Lego creations, etc. Now it’s been relegated to our garage basement, but I’m sure it still has some life in it for the right space. ;-)

    Still loving your series!
